Van Houtum again voted Best Managed Company For the third year in succession, Van Houtum B.V. has once again been voted one of the 45 best managed companies in the Netherlands. This is the result of the Best Managed Companies programme that Deloitte organises in collaboration with TiasNimbas Business School, the Chamber of Commerce, employers' federation VNO-NCW and business magazine Management Team. The competition tracks down the best managed businesses in the Netherlands in the large and medium-sized category.

This year is the third time that Deloitte's annual competition has been organised in the Netherlands. Van Houtum participated for the third time, winning the right to call itself one of the Best Managed Companies of 2010, a much sought-after title, for a full year. “This is the third time we have participated and our third win”, says Managing Director Henk van Houtum. “That is a sterling performance that we can all be proud of.” 150 companies applied for the programme this year.
The Best Managed Companies programme focuses on Dutch businesses that are not quoted on the stock exchange and that achieve an annual turnover of at least 10 million euros. The programme is remarkable because it does not just look at turnover growth. The focus lies on excelling through good management. Areas such as strategy & policy formulation, organisation & processes, management & controls, information technology and people & culture are all closely investigated within the programme.
