BLACK: the ultimate in green

We presented our inspiring new ‘look & feel' during the ISSA Interclean exhibition in Amsterdam RAI. This was where we launched the restyled logo for Satino and our audacious ‘Dare to be Black’ campaign. The many visitors to our stand were pleasantly surprised.

The exhibition included a section for total solutions for sanitary areas for the first time. One of the halls focused exclusively on washrooms. Obviously, we were present in this segment: our new stand was located centrally in the washroom hall. We chose a ‘shop in shop’ presentation in order to launch a number of primeurs: the new Satino logo and the introduction of Satino Black.

After launching Van Houtum's new logo earlier this year, it was now Satino's turn. Both logos have been designed in close collaboration with Van Berlo Communications. Toin van der Velden, general sales manager: “We consciously decided to differentiate more between Van Houtum on the one hand and our products on the other hand. The Van Houtum brand represents our company: the mills, the machines, the processes and the people. The additional Satino brand stands for our products.”

Consequently, Satino is presented separately. “The new logo is a warm orange-red background with striking white lettering,” Toin explains. “This is used as the label on the new packaging styles. The clear colour codes for our paper grades are bound to stand out among the other products in the warehouse, which are mostly packaged in white and blue!”

The many positive reactions received from exhibition visitors indicate that Satino's improved recognizability is hugely appreciated. They were similarly enthusiastic about Satino BLACK, the only Cradle to Cradle certified hygienic paper in the world that is totally harmless for people and the environment. We have even been awarded the C2C Silver certificate for this product.

Toin van der Velden: “In accordance with the Cradle to Cradle principle, we are now working on developing further washroom products that are 100% suitable for bio-recycling. We have introduced Satino BLACK to make these products more easily recognizable for the market. It also emphasises how truly unique we are. We are once again leading the market in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility: green has become attractive thanks to Satino BLACK! At the same time, we have made it easier for our customers to convert to sustainable development. Hence our slogan: It’s so easy to go green.”
