Boso: powerful Satino PartnerStrong wholesale partners are of essential importance for our distribution. Consequently, we continue to expand our network of Satino Partners. At the end of 2009, Boso in Sneek was officially nominated as a Satino Partner.

However, our collaboration with this powerful partner started many years previously. So long ago in fact, that Boso's director, Sietze van der Krieke, cannot say exactly when the collaboration started: “This dates back to before my time and I have worked for
Boso for twenty years.”
In its sixty years of existence, has developed into an all-round service provider for cleaning cloths, wiping paper, hygiene products and absorptive products. “Together with Van Houtum, we look after a few major accounts like the GelreDome in Arnhem,” says Van der Krieke. “We have installed Satino dispensers there and also hire a number of business seats. We regularly visit football matches so that we can get to know our business relations in a more informal setting and also show them what we do at the GelreDome.”
C2C is a bonusVan der Krieke sees Satino's C2C label as a bonus that can clinch a sale. “Most customers are cost-conscious and choose the cheapest product”, he says. “But being able to recommend a product
that is also good for the environment definitely catches their attention.”
What is his personal attitude towards the environment? “I'm in my fifties, so I am not as environmentally conscious as my children”, says Van der Krieke with a laugh. “They correct me when I try to throw a battery away with our household refuse. When I used to work on my moped years ago, I always cleaned the engine with petrol and then flushed it down the drain. Everybody did in those days. As time has passed, we have all been forced to re-evaluate.
“For example, we sell absorbents to companies who operate machines that leak oil. By law, these absorbents have to be collected up and disposed of separately. And that costs money. Because this is not monitored, many companies use standard wiping paper that they dispose of with their normal waste. If the government were to enforce the law more stringently, that would have a beneficial effect on our sales!”
As the market is in a state of change, Boso has shifted its focus to other sectors. “Truly dirty industry is in the process of disappearing from the Netherlands. It is being replaced by clean industry, which needs less cleaning products. Consequently, we are now targeting improving our position in healthcare. There is more than enough turnover potential there.”
